Black Lightning

Black Lightning

If you take Spider-man and strip him of his super powers, give him a flying car that is a cross between the DeLorean from ‘Back to the Future and ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’, you have this Russian superhero fantasy film in the vein of Knight Rider.  The pacing and reactions of the characters to the unusual situations surrounding them can be at times a little mundane and too matter of fact. But the overall premise and cinematic viewings of this college kid and his flying almost living car are fun to watch.

Suspension of disbelief is to be held as the flying car does things that even a flying car should not be able to do such as left other cars off the ground and push them up to a roof top. Besides a few references to certain characters wanting to sleep with the beautiful Russian love interest of the film, there is not much if any foul language, excessive violence, or sexual content.  A good film for any lover of the superhero and fantasy genre.
